Badger

Badger is a big, goofy boy who would crawl inside your skin to snuggle as close as possible if you would let him (we jokingly nicknamed him Buffalo Bill). He's a very needy, clingy fellow who just wants to be pet 24/7. He's a brave boy (a ring gate blew over on top of him in the middle of an obedience trial and he continued on as if it never happened) who isn't phased by much. Known for his trademark 'hugs' - that often come when least expecting them! He loves his jolly balls (especially stealing them from Savvy), his pond time, his group runs, and to make his humans happy. He's an energetic boy who thrives on staying busy!

He made the long road trip out to the GSMDCA National Specialty in California in 2023 as a 13 month old baby puppy and came home with a Best of Winner win at the IS before the NS, Winner's Dog at the NS, a Best Bred By Exhibitor at the NS, and NS Best in Sweepstakes (the same trophy his dad won back in 2006) and helped us to win our 2nd NS 'Best in Breeder's Class' award.

He then went on to finish his championship in style by earning an Award of Merit at the AKC National Championship show in December 2023 as a 15 month old. He also won Best Puppy in Sweepstakes at the 2023 AKC National Championship as well.

He took a break from being a fancy show dog to spend some time with Dave in IL in Spring 2024 and quickly earned his CD (Novice Obedience) title with 3 AMAZING scores.

In his very young and very limited show career he has already won multiple OH Group placements and been pulled for the cut in regular group. He's started drafting and done very well on cart - weight pull seems like a bore to him but hopefully we'll squeak out a few legs eventually - and hopefully he'll do some pack hikes in the near future as well.

We are very excited about the future with this big, handsome goofball!
