Sesame

Sesame was the 'Blaze' puppy in our Magic litter. We kept both Sesame and her sister, Vanish, until Fall 2022 - both girls were so pretty and so much fun that we just had to make sure they both had the opportunity to be shown. Raising littermates together is always tricky and requires a lot of extra time and effort to make sure to raise them as two individual puppies vs. as a 'pair'. But, that work sure paid off in a BIG way when Vanish and Sesame won Winner's Bitch and Best of Winners (Vanish) and Reserve Winner's Bitch and Best Bred By Exhibitor (Sesame) at the 2022 GSMDCA National Specialty at just 14 months of age. Sesame also won Best of Winner's, Best Bred By, and Best Puppy in Sweepstakes at the Independent Specialty following the National. Needless to say we were amazed and pleased at how well she did at this huge event against the toughest competition in the country.

After taking a couple months off after her big wins we took her to a local show in April 2023 to finish up her single pesky point she needed for her Championship - she finished in style going Best of Breed over specials and then moving on to an Owner Handled Group One that same afternoon!

Sesame also started in the performance and obedience venues. She quickly earned her rally novice title and a couple weight pulling legs in 2023. Late spring 2023 she went to stay with Dave and earned her Novice Obedience (CD) title in just 1.5 months time. She started in drafting and got so close to a title in 2023 - we hope to earn her first drafting title in 2024. She finished up both her WWD and WWDX weight pull titles and her Beginner Novice (BN) obedience title in 2023 and has two legs towards her NWPD pack title.

She made a few appearances as a special in fall 2023 and made us proud in very limited showing! She took several OH group placements in addition to a Group 4. The 2023 GSMDCA NS was a real shining point for Sesame though...there was an independent show prior to the National with a hug entry and then the NS itself later in the week. Sesame was consistent and won OHBOB (owner handled best of breed) and BOS (best of opposite sex) at both the Independent regional show as well as at the National. She also helped to earn Cherished our 2nd 'Best in Breeder's Class' win with the help of Archer & Badger. To wrap up the year she won Best of Opposite Sex at the very prestigious AKC National Championship show in Dec 2023.
