Dolly
Dolly is a stout, sweet girl who enjoys life running around the farm, chasing sheep, and retrieving balls in the pond. She thinks she is a giant lap dog and curls up on my lap in the chair every night.
Dolly won her sweeps class at the 2010 GSMDCA National Specialty and finished her conformation championship in Lexington, KY in September, 2010. She finished completely out of the bred by exhibitor classes with 3 majors.
She earned her VGS (Versatility Greater Swiss) title in May 2015 - and is the second swissy we have put a versatility tile on!
Dolly has had three litters and is now spayed and retired from breeding. She has earned her ROM (Register of Merit) in November, 2013 for having five Champion offspring! Two puppies from her first litter (Elliott & Jameson) earned best of opposite in sweepstakes wins and one puppy from her first litter (Elliott) set a new GSMDCA record for youngest age ever to earn a Novice Obedience title, youngest ever to earn an Open Obedience title, and youngest ever to earn a VGSX. Her son, Wally, from her third litter won Winner's Dog at the 2014 National Specialty.
At the 2014 GSMDCA National Specialty Dolly won a HUGE (I think maybe the largest ever) Brood Bitch class with her boys Elliott, Royce, and Wally. She also was awarded by the GSMDCA 'Top Producing Dam' and 'Top Producing Dam of Working Titles' for 2013.
Dolly was out of our 2nd litter and was the mom to 3 litters and 24 puppies. She was an amazing mom and produced some of the sweetest and prettiest puppies. She earned her ROM (register of merit - 5 champion offspring) and her VGS (versatility greater swiss) when she was younger and I still remember earning 1st place in rally with her at a big trial (a rarity for our silly swissies).

As her body had been failing her the last few months before her passing - her favorite thing to do was slowly make her way back to the pond and then float around like a hippo while the rest of the crazy youngsters ran laps and chased balls. Then she’d make her way back out and slowly rejoin us at the house.
She could no longer walk at all the last day but we took her back to the pond and Doug climbed in with her and let her wade in the pond and held her in the water. She hadn’t really woken up for anything but she did get excited when she saw her pond that evening! And seeing her just relaxed and laying in Doug’s arms while soaking in the water was hard but beautiful. A couple hours later she peacefully left us at home with assistance from the vet...still wet and stinky from her time in the pond...just how she liked to be!
We’ll miss that goofy old lady so much but are so thankful for all the wonderful years she had and all the wonderful puppies and their families that she brought into our lives. She brought joy to so many people and will live on forever through her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.
